From February 26 this year, citizens of Ukraine, after crossing the Polish border, can travel free of charge in the 2nd class on PKP Intercity trains of the economic categories TLK and IC in Poland, including transfers to subsequent domestic connections of the carrier of the indicated categories.
“For the next four weeks, citizens of Ukraine can travel free of charge on our trains in domestic transport. As railwaymen, we perfectly understand our social mission, which is why we have made such a decision. We are prepared to strengthen connections,” said President of PKP Intercity Marek Charciek.
PKP Intercity carries out connections between Poland and Ukraine in accordance with the current timetable. The carrier is prepared to strengthen connections on domestic sections. An additional 20 wagons were sent to Przemyśl alone.
PZPN President Cezary Kulesza wrote on his Twitter profile: “No more words, time for action! Due to the escalation of aggression by the Russian Federation towards Ukraine, the Polish national team does not intend to play a play-off match against Russia. This is the only right decision. The President of PKN Orlen, Daniel Obajtek, wrote on his Twitter profile: “We must be in solidarity. That is why I decided to make the Petrochemia hotel and the palace in Srebrna available to refugees from Ukraine. We will provide accommodation and meals for mothers with children and entire families. We are in contact with the appropriate institutions, for help to start as soon as possible.”
The President of the Polish Olympic Committee, Andrzej Kraśnicki, wrote a letter to Sergei Bubka – President of the Ukrainian Olympic Committee, expressing his solidarity and a declaration of readiness to support the Ukrainian nation, as well as Ukrainian athletes and their relatives. – We are with you in this incredibly difficult time and we offer you readiness to help – wrote the President of the Polish Olympic Committee.
“Poland and the Polish Olympic Committee fully support the independence of your country and strongly condemn the attack on Ukraine and the violation of the rules and Olympic values. We connect with the entire Ukrainian community, we convey to you our words of support, encouragement and solidarity. We are also ready to help you. Our doors are open to you,” wrote the president of the Polish Olympic Committee.
Andrzej Kraśnicki assured Sergey Bubka about the readiness to cooperate, help and openness. He assured that the Polish Olympic Committee was monitoring the situation in Ukraine and at the borders on an ongoing basis and that it was ready to help Ukrainian sportsmen, their friends and families.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Association of European Olympic Committees (EOC) also took positions on the events in Ukraine.
Both the IOC and the EOC condemned the violation of the Olympic truce, called for peace, solidarity with the Ukrainian Olympic Community, help, mutual kindness and friendship. The IOC and the EOC said they are monitoring this deeply disturbing situation and have expressed their readiness to cooperate and provide humanitarian assistance where possible.
The KGHM group supports the activities of the Polish government and organizes aid for both refugees and residents of Ukraine who are fighting against the Russian occupier. In the Copper Belt, the company, together with non-governmental organizations, creates an Aid Center for Ukrainians.

In Moldova, Romania, Slovakia, prepaid SIM kits are distributed free of charge to refugees arriving from Ukraine at land border crossings.”
