Data4 has started the process of building a data center campus in Poland and will invest a total of over PLN 1 billion in launching a computing complex in Jawczyce near Warsaw, announced Adam Ponichtera, director of Data4 in Poland.
“Poland is characterized by a stable and resilient economy with one of the highest rates of economic growth in Europe. The location of our country in the heart of Europe makes Poland an extremely attractive country for European logistics, transport and telecommunications. I am convinced that our investment will contribute to even faster market development, and at the same time will constitute an attractive offer for Polish companies thinking about digital transformation,” said Ponichtera during the online presentation.
He indicated that the construction of a new campus in Warsaw will enable Data4 to both target the Polish hosting and colocation market, and support the development of clients who are cloud service providers in Central and Eastern Europe.
Ultimately, three buildings with a total net area of 15,000 sqm will be built on a plot of 4 ha. and a power allocation of 50 MW. The implementation of the first stage of construction is scheduled for the first quarter of 2023.
The first stage of the investment will include the construction of a data processing center with a gross area of 7,200 sqm (2,200 sqm net area for IT equipment) and allocation of 8 MW power. The company plans to sign contracts with suppliers of energy from renewable sources or obtain certificates confirming the origin of energy from renewable sources.
Along with the construction of a new data center in Poland, Data4 will connect them with fiber optic telecommunications lines with networks available in Warsaw and Europe, including other campuses from the Data4 Group, thus ensuring the possibility of further development for existing customers and contributing to the free flow of data.
“Data4 is a reliable data center partner that offers customers intelligent and scalable solutions. Our network of well-connected, resilient and environmentally sustainable data centers is the foundation for the digital growth of customers in Europe,” said Data4 Group President and CEO, Olivier Micheli.
In his opinion, Poland, and in particular the Warsaw agglomeration, has a huge potential for digital development and is a strategic node for connections between Western and Eastern Europe and Scandinavia.
“The presence of our company on the Polish market is the next stage of development that will enable us to provide our clients with an innovative and environmentally sustainable digital infrastructure that meets the needs of modern hosting and connectivity,” summed up Micheli.
Data4 states that it is the only fully European and continent’s leading operator and investor in the data center market. Founded in France in 2006, the group finances, designs, builds and manages its own data centers, providing customers with efficient, efficient, secure and environmentally friendly data hosting solutions. Using only European capital, Data4 remains the property of AXA Investment Managers – Real Assets, which provides access to funds for further growth.
