Romanian volume of real estate transactions increased by almost 16%

The number of real estate transactions increased by almost 16 percent in 2021, compared to the previous year, to almost 700,000 transactions, despite the decreases in the last 3 months. Transactions in 2021 mark the second consecutive year of growth, after in 2020 there were about 12 percent more sales contracts compared to 2019. Previously, in 2019 there were 4.1 percent fewer transactions than in 2018, and in 2018 by 10.2 percent less than in 2017.

December was closed with the largest monthly volume of transactions in 2021. Most real estate sales were registered in Bucharest, Ilfov and Constanța. The counties with the fewest properties sold in the same period are Calarasi, Covasna and Caras Severin.
