Přibyslav in Havlíčkův Brod plans to start building an apartment building this year, the city wants to return to housing after two decades. Eight new flats should serve as people in need and as start-up housing for families. Due to the plan, the town hall is preparing to demolish the building, which now houses one tenant and the AZ Centrum leisure center. The city center offered the possibility of moving to a primary school. Mayor Martin Kamarád (ODS) announced yesterday.
In the building to be demolished, the tenant was fired. There used to be a music school, but it has already moved to the reconstructed primary school. According to the mayor, there is also enough space at the school for the activities of the AZ Center.
It is a leisure center operated by the AZ Center in Havlíčkův Brod. Director Martin Domkář told ČTK that he received the offer from the Přibyslav town hall before Christmas, now he is considering it. He stated that there were two circles of interest in Přibyslav at this time with the coronavirus epidemic.
The town hall originally wanted to reconstruct the old building, which is behind the falconry on the outskirts of the city. According to the mayor, however, it turned out that the ceilings would have to be lowered there, there would be problems with the passages and the stairs. “After the designer’s design, we came to the conclusion that it would be better to demolish the house and build a new one,” Kamarád said. The construction costs will result from the project documentation, which, according to the mayor, is now being completed.
The city would like to build an apartment building with smaller apartments within two years. They intend to apply for a grant for the project, if receives, the conditions for tenants will be affected by the requirements of the relevant grant program. “Our idea is that living there should be limited in time in some way,” Kamarád said.
In addition to the nursing home, the 4,000-strong Přibyslav owns three apartment buildings in the Ronov nad Sázavou area and other apartments in two houses on the square and in Tyršová Street.
