The Office for the Protection of Competition (ÚOHS) has authorized the ČEZ ESCO holding company from the ČEZ energy group to purchase Capexus, which deals with the design and reconstruction of office space.
“The Office found that the merger would not lead to a significant distortion of competition and therefore issued a clearance decision. The first instance decision is final,” the Office of ÚOHS said in its report.
According to its website, Capexus has been operating on the market in the Czech Republic for ten years. It offers design and implementation of custom office space from design to completion, interior consulting and building technology solutions. According to data in the Commercial Register, Karel Konečný and Daniel Matula, who also own the real estate fund 100 Towers Holding, are behind the company. It was established in 2019 and recently bought, for example, the Lyra office building in Prague near Smíchovské nádraží and other buildings in Prague, Ostrava or Pilsen.
ČEZ ESCO focuses on services related to decarbonization and climate change reduction for industry and cities. These include energy audits and energy consultancy, external heat and electricity supplies or the construction of cogeneration units, the renovation of heating systems and the installation of photovoltaic power plants. It is also a supplier of services related to public and corporate electromobility. It also provides electricity, gas and heat supplies, electricity purchases, emissions trading, operation of energy facilities and their service.
The companies of the ČEZ ESCO holding employ about 2,000 people. ČEZ ESCO subsidiaries include AirPlus, AZ Klima, Bytkomfort, ESCO Distribution Systems, ČEZ Energetické služby, ČEZ Energo, ČEZ LDS, Domat Control System, E-Dome, ENESA, ESCO Slovakia, Hormen, Kart, KLF-Distribúcia and Spravbytkomfort .
