BNP Paribas Bank Polska has been conducting a pilot of CHF loan settlements

BNP Paribas Bank Polska is piloting settlements related to housing loans in Swiss francs on individual terms, but has not yet made a decision to start the settlement program, the bank said.

“The decision on the settlement program for clients has not been made. The bank is conducting a pilot action of settlements on terms individually agreed with borrowers,’ the bank said in the presentation.

The bank announced today that the number of new proceedings initiated by customers who concluded currency loan agreements and CHF-denominated loans amounted to 416 in Q3 this year, and in Q1-Q3 2021 it was a total of 1,152 lawsuits.

The total value of pursued claims amounted to PLN 690.2 million at the end of September this year.

The coverage ratio of claimed claims by provisions is 98%, and the ratio of the value of the disputed items to the book value of the CHF housing loan portfolio is approximately 15.4%.

The gross carrying amount of mortgage and housing loans granted to individuals in CHF as at September 30, 2021 amounted to PLN 4.49 billion, compared to PLN 4.82 billion at the end of 2020.
