The total value of trading in shares on the main market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) amounted to PLN 32.1 billion in October, 31.4% less than in the corresponding period a year earlier, the stock exchange announced.
The value of trading in shares on the order book fell by 16.3% y / y to the level of PLN 31.6 billion. The average daily value of trading in shares on the order book was PLN 1,502.8 million, 12.3% less than a year The value of the WIG index at the end of October was 73,586.32 points and was 66.9% higher than in the previous year, according to the WSE announcement.
On the NewConnect market in October, the total value of trading in shares decreased by 82.6% y/y to the level of PLN 468.2 million. The value of trading in shares on the order book on the NewConnect market decreased by 86% y/y and amounted to PLN 373.8 million.
The total volume of trading in derivative instruments in October was 821.4 thousand, which is 15.6% less than in the previous year. The volume of trading in index futures fell by 29.5% y/y to 387,300, the volume of trading in stock futures fell by 5.3% y/y to 191,900, the volume of trading in currency futures increased by 22.2% y/y to 219,700 and the volume of options trading fell by 45.8% y / y to 22,500, it was announced.
October saw an increase in the value of trading in structured products by 50.4% y/y to the level of PLN 293.8 million and a decrease in ETF trading by 14.4% y/y to PLN 36.0 million.
The WSE also announced that the value of non-Treasury bond issues listed on the Catalyst market amounted to PLN 98bn at the end of October, compared to PLN 96.7bn in the same period last year. The value of trading in non-Treasury bonds on the Catalyst market as part of the order book fell by 4.7% y/y to the level of PLN 234 million.
The total value of trading in bonds on TBSP amounted to PLN 36.4 billion compared to PLN 18.8 billion a year earlier, which means an increase by 92.9% y/y.
The total volume of electricity trading on the spot and forward markets was in October this year. 24.2 TWh, which means an increase by 3.4% y/y. Electricity trading volume on the spot market decreased by 11.2% y/y to 2.8 TWh. In the forward market, the volume increased by 5.6% y/y to the level of 21.4 TWh.
The total volume of trading in natural gas increased by 11.3% y/y to 15.1 TWh. On the spot market, the trading volume decreased by 24.8% to 2.1 TWh. The forward market saw an increase of 20.5% y/y to the level of 13.1 TWh, it was further announced.
The volume of trading in property rights resulting from certificates of origin, excluding rights from certificates related to energy efficiency (“white certificates”), on the spot market amounted to 2.0 TWh, which means an increase by 27.5% y/y.
On the other hand, the volume of trading in property rights resulting from energy efficiency certificates of origin (“white certificates”) decreased by 29% y/y to the level of 8.5 ktoe.
The trade in guarantees of origin for electricity generated in RES increased by 312.5% y/y, to the volume of 3 TWh.
The capitalization of 378 domestic companies listed on the main market in October 2021 amounted to PLN 729.1 billion (EUR 157.8 billion), the WSE also reported. The total capitalization of 425 domestic and foreign companies listed on the main market amounted to PLN 1,345.4 billion (EUR 291.2 billion).
