Most employees now want to work from home three to four days a week, while a year ago it was only once or twice a week. More than four-fifths of managers want to increase the share of home offices in their teams. People especially appreciate the time saved for commuting to the office. It follows from a survey of almost 4,500 employees of the ČSOB Group.
“Working from home is a time saver for six out of ten of our employees, while forty percent lack social contact. It is the flexible setup of our banking group that allows us to combine all needs. We want to continue to see each other and meet, but most of all we want to benefit from a greater opportunity to choose where we will work from,” comments Marcela Suchánková, a member of the ČSOB Board of Directors responsible for HR, IT and Operations. “People have made it clear that their preference for work from home has increased significantly year-on-year,” adds Marcela Suchánková.
A quarter of respondents can concentrate better on work at home and are more efficient. One-fifth of employees point out that they can work from home with a minor illness or minor injury. On the other hand, the already mentioned 40 percent stated that they lack more frequent meetings with colleagues and about a quarter point out that they do not have a suitable working environment at home.
In the ČSOB Group, diversity and a flexible work style have long been the basis of the approach to employees, which proved to be a great advantage after the pandemic. In the first half of this year, an average of 69 percent of ČSOB Group employees worked from home. In addition to the home office, employees use part-time work, the Program for Parents and Corporate Kindergartens or the 55+ Program.
