Polish exports of oils, fats and waxes grew the fastest in January-March – by 34.6% y/y

The fastest growth in exports in January-July 2021 was related to oils, fats, animal and vegetable waxes (by 38%), inedible raw materials except fuels (by 37.8%), according to the Polish Statistical Office (GUS).

In exports, the largest increase was recorded for oils, fats, animal and vegetable waxes (by 38%), inedible raw materials, except for fuels (by 37.8%), mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials (by 35.7%), machinery and transport equipment (by 32.6%), industrial goods classified mainly by raw material (by 27.7%), various industrial products (by 26.0%), chemicals and related products (by 20.5%), food and animals living (by 9.9%) and beverages and tobacco (by 0.9%), while a decrease was recorded in goods and transactions not classified in the SITC (by 4.6%), GUS indicated.

In imports, an increase was recorded in goods and transactions not classified in the SITC (by 108.8%), in industrial goods classified mainly by raw material (by 36.5%), in mineral fuels, lubricants and derivatives (by 31.2%), in inedible raw materials, except for fuels (by 29.8%), in machinery and transport equipment (by 28.2%), in chemicals and related products (by 27.2%), various industrial products (by 24.2%) , in oils, fats, animal and vegetable waxes (by 21.9%), in beverages and tobacco (by 7.8%) and in food and live animals (by 5.9%), according to GUS.

The GUS informed today that exports increased by 21.9% y / y to EUR 160.2 billion in January-July 2021, while imports increased by 23.5% in this period and amounted to EUR 157.1 billion.
