Employees of Krajská zdravotní could live in the former hostel in Čelakovského Street in Ústí nad Labem, where flats for seniors and employees of the necessary professions are to be built, and in the building in Hoření Street. Apartments in the regional town are also being sought by a transport company or the city police.
“We have long declared that we want to get new qualified doctors and paramedics to our hospitals. We are now in the phase of preparing new benefits and one of them is a possible opportunity to help with housing,” said Jana Mrákotová, spokeswoman for the Regional Health Service, and the Ústí Hospital. According to her, new employees to whom the company will provide the apartment will be more likely to remain in their position.
The Regional Health Service, which manages hospitals in Děčín, Ústí nad Labem, Teplice, Most, Chomutov, Litoměřice and, since 1 July, also in Rumburk in the Děčín region, has already addressed some cities, others are about to be addressed in the foreseeable future. “In order to cooperate with us in this area and to help us solve this area, which is certainly important for them,” Mrákotová added.
According to Deputy Mayor Tomáš Vlach (ANO), paramedics could live in the building in Čelakovského Street, for which the deputies approved financing of the reconstruction last week. There are to be 32 flats in the building, the disadvantage of the environment around the former hostel is, according to the opposition representative Lenka Vonka Černá (Vaše Ústí, formerly ODS), the lack of parking spaces. According to Vlach, parking spaces should be expanded not only in Krásný Březno, where the building is located. Deputy Mayor Martin Hausenblas (PRO! Ústí) added that the Regional Health Demand is demanding 100 flats.
Opposition representative Petr Křivan (UFO) reminded that the transport company of the city of Ústí nad Labem also turned to the city with a request for the provision of flats. “It would improve our position in acquiring new drivers, which we are dealing with,” said Křivan, who is also a member of the board of directors of the transport company. Hausenblas added that the city needs 2,000 flats, in Burning there should be about 170. According to representative Eva Fialová (YES), the city police are also in demand, which wants to stabilize the number of police officers.
