Kaufland has provided postal services to all stores of the chain (so far they were available in over 100 stores), Kaufland Polska reported. Marcin Łojewski, member of the management board, emphasizes that the launch of postal services “creates the possibility of selling on non-trading Sundays”.
In the era of the pandemic, the popularity of online shopping has increased, and hence the places where you can use postal services. This is confirmed, among others, by over 71,000 parcels that Kaufland customers sent or picked up when shopping from March 2020 to May 23 this year. Until recently, the service was available in over 100 stores of the chain, but now it can be enjoyed by buyers in all Kaufland stores throughout Poland.
According to the chain, it can be expected that the demand for post offices, which grocery stores are increasingly becoming, will increase.
“We are aware that it is precisely the possibility of making comprehensive purchases and settling many other matters in one place that significantly increases the comfort of customers. This also applies to postal services. […] On the commercial market we observe a tendency to launch this type of activity, which at the same time creates the possibility of selling on non-trading Sundays. We carefully observe the competition and trends and we do not close ourselves to any solutions that will meet the needs of our clients,” said Łojewski.
The implementation of postal services allows stores to operate also on non-trading Sundays, regardless of the size of the outlet, this function can be performed by local stores as well as large discounters or hypermarkets, emphasized in the material.
Kaufland is an international chain of stores offering groceries and everyday products. Throughout Europe, Kaufland has over 1,300 stores and employs approximately 132,000 people. In Poland, the chain currently has 227 stores and employs approx. 16,000 employees.
