ZUS plans to take over the settlement of contributions from entrepreneurs within two years

Zakład Ubezpieczeń Społecznych (Social Insurance Institution) (ZUS) plans to take over the obligations of entrepreneurs in the field of accounting for insurance premiums within two years, informed ZUS president Gertruda Uścińska.

“In the next two years, we want to take over the obligations of entrepreneurs related to the settlement of # premium. This would reduce the costs of non-business activities of companies. We are at the stage of extensive consultations on this project” – said Uścińska, quoted on the ZUS profile on Twitter.

As part of the strategy for 2021-2025, the Social Insurance Institution plans to accelerate the process of servicing payers, automate and digitize, simplify the law, improve data integration within administration, and improve organizational and infrastructure. It is planned to introduce a program to automate the settlement of contribution payers and automate the payment of benefits.

The strategy shows that ZUS intends to take over the tasks currently performed by contribution payers, concerning, inter alia, setting up accounts of payers and insured persons, determining the basis for the amount of contributions and its amount, indicating whether payers are entitled to concessions and preferences, automatically creating a profile on the Electronic Services Platform, etc.

ZUS would present payers with the amount due for the contribution, with the option of being paid electronically.
