This year, the Prague City Hall is investing CZK 303 million in the construction or reconstruction of primary and kindergartens. One of the goals is to increase the capacity of schools. The money will go to 12 projects. The decision was made today by representatives of the capital. The founders of kindergartens and primary schools are individual city districts, among which the municipality will distribute the amount.

Among the schools that will be repaired is, for example, the primary school on Havlíčkov náměstí in Prague 3. The money will also go to the repair of the kindergarten in Letňany, the extension of the primary school in Chodov or the reconstruction of the school in Vybíralova street in Prague 14.

The repair will also concern the Art Nouveau school in Strašnická Street. It is also the new building of the primary school and kindergarten in U Elektry Street in Prague 9 and the completion of the Dr. Edvard Beneš in Čakovice, where a new pavilion will be built.

The municipality will also spend the money on equipping classrooms at the school in Trávníčková Street or on developing a project to build a new school in Kolovraty. The city will also contribute to increasing the capacity of the school canteen of the TGM primary school in Prague 7.

In the coming months, according to Councilor Vít Šimral (Pirates), the city management wants to discuss and present the results of the analysis where the school infrastructure lacks school infrastructure. The analysis was prepared by the Institute of Planning and Development (IPR) and according to the document, 18 schools are missing. The total amount for building schools should reach up to CZK 15 billion in the future.
