German retailer Kaufland has completed the acquisition of a 1.7-hectare plot of land near Selgros Berceni, Bucharest, from the company Oasis Green Energy 2, founded by Romanian entrepreneurs Klaus Reisenauer, Kurt Wagner and Gabriel Marchievici, and is now preparing the construction of its second hypermarket in Sector 4. Kaufland paid an estimated price of over EUR 5 million for the purchase of the land.
Kaufland has for this year, in Romania, an investment budget of over EUR 375 million, after last year it invested EUR 300 million for the opening of 10 stores, land acquisition and modernizations.
