The French construction materials giant Saint Gobain will acquire in the next period the manufacturer of insulating construction materials DBW from Ploiesti, in a transaction estimated at several million euro. Also, the company will subsequently carry out an investment to increase production capacity within a total investment program of EUR 40 million.
“The estimated value of the investments of EUR 40 million includes the value of the takeover transaction of DBW Ploiesti, as well as a brownfield project through which a new production capacity of insulating glass wool materials will be developed on the already existing assets in Ploiesti. Romania is a promising market, and Saint Gobain wants to become a strong industrial investor, “said Michel Hue, a representative of the French group. “We hope to conclude the Ploiesti transaction with DBW as soon as possible,” he added.
