The Penta Investments group saw its profit fall by 48 percent to CZK 3.5bn in 2020, while the aggregate sales of its portfolio companies rose by Kc5bn to Kc181bn, the company announced today.
Positive contributors to the profit were mainly Dr.Max pharmacies, lottery company Fortuna, Penta Real Estate and the Primabanka bank. On the other hand, losses were posted by Slovak insurer Dovera, Polish retail network Empik, Slovak aluminium plant Slovalco and Czech aircraft manufacturer Aero Vodochody.
Total assets of Penta’s portfolio companies increased by CZK 6bn to CZK 291bn.
Despite the pandemic, Penta invested Kc11bn in the development of its companies and projects, which was CZK 4.6bn less than the year before.
