The arrears of the paper and office industry have increased since the beginning of March last year by over 1/5 to PLN 23.6 million, according to the data of the National Debt Register of the Economic Information Bureau (KRD). The average arrears of companies in this industry towards contractors increased to PLN 34.6 thousand from PLN 29.6 thousand.

Today they have increased to PLN 23.6 million. The group of debtors has also expanded from 657 in March last year to 683 now. The average debt to contractors is growing with increasing arrears. Twelve months ago it amounted to PLN 29.6 thousand, and now PLN 34.6 thousand.
The European Confederation of Paper Industry (CEPI) reports that in 2020 alone, the production of paper for printing and writing, and therefore often used in companies, fell by 18%. to the new situation. The e-commerce market is now very absorbent and needs a lot of paper packaging to transport goods, points out the KRD.
“The biggest problems with solvency are sole proprietorships, which owe contractors PLN 12.8 million. Right behind them are limited liability companies with arrears of PLN 9.6 million. The rest of the debt is divided between joint-stock companies, general partnerships and limited partnerships “- said the president of the National Debt Register of the Economic Information Bureau, Adam ÅÄ cki.
“The industry has to survive a difficult period and you can see that it is looking for rescue solutions. It is changing the production profile by introducing new types of paper to the offer needed in e-commerce. This is a good sign, because it proves the flexibility and determination of companies. Such an approach should help them overcome financial problems. “- added ÅÄ cki.
The companies from Mazovia have the most arrears, as they did not pay their contractors nearly PLN 9.1 million. The second place is taken by the ÅlÄ skie Voivodeship with the amount of PLN 3 million, and the podium is closed by MaÅopolska, where companies have PLN 2.1 million in debt.
Enterprises in the paper and office industry owe PLN 6.6 million to securitisation and debt collection funds and almost the same to banks, PLN 1.6 million to leasing companies and PLN 1.4 million to mobile operators.
