Even if in the first year of the pandemic the activity on the construction sites decreased, the residential was on the plus side. The development activity, but also the trading activity, registered an advance compared to 2019, according to the data of the real estate consulting company JLL.
Thus, in 2020 approximately 10,000 new units were delivered in Bucharest and 2021 will be even richer in supply, with almost 11,500 homes to be completed, increasing by 14 percent compared to 2020 .
“The second half of the year came with an increase in construction activity, given that new phases of projects had been launched, amid surprisingly good sales. This motivated the developers to be actively involved and secure new land for future projects “, says Andreea Hamza, senior director of Living Department JLL Romania.
