The current director of marketing, Aleš Veselý (47), will become the new CEO of the lottery company Sazka from February. He will replace Robert Chvátal, who will become the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sazka and will continue to manage the parent group of Sazka Group. Sazka informed ČTK.
Veselý has been working in Sazka since mid-2013 in the role of marketing director and for the last three years also in the position of deputy general director. He participated in the transformation of Sazka after it became its sole owner of the KKCG investment group of billionaire Karel Komárek. Chvátal has been driving Sazka since 2013.
Sazka is the oldest lottery company in the Czech Republic with a share of more than 90 percent in the market of lotteries and similar games. The company’s main lottery products are number lotteries with the most famous game Sportka. In 2019, it increased sales by 12 percent year on year to 14.8 billion crowns. She paid out about nine billion in winnings. Sazka is a member of the multinational investment group KKCG billionaire Karel Komárek, which operates in 11 countries.
“Over the last eight years, we have managed to build a modern and entertainment company from a traditional lottery company. Thanks to innovation and online transformation, we can offer a wide portfolio of games that appeals to three quarters of the adult population in the Czech Republic. My main goal is to has maintained, but above all further developed its long – term strategy of an entertainment company, “said Veselý. The company will decide on the new marketing director of Sazka in the coming weeks.
Prior to joining Sazka, Veselý worked for over 15 years in various managerial positions in telecommunications, such as Marketing and Product Director at Telefónica O2. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at UJEP in Ústí nad Labem and project management at George Washington University. He is married, has two children, and his hobbies include hiking and cycling.
