The number of building permits for residential buildings issued in the first 11 months of 2020 amounted to 37,781, down 4% from the corresponding period of the previous year, according to the National Institute of Statistics. Decreases were registered in the following development regions: South-East, Center, West, Bucharest-Ilfov, South-West Oltenia and North-East. Growth was recorded only in the North-West development region. The South-Muntenia development region has remained at the same level of building permits issued for residential buildings. In November 2020, 3,152 building permits were issued for residential buildings, down 21.5% compared to October 2020 and 7.9% compared to November 2019.
