Apartment prices in Romania continue to rise despite the crisis

5 January 2021

After an increase of 1.2% in November, house prices recorded a positive evolution in the last month of 2020. According to the Imobiliare.ro Index, the average amount requested for an apartment nationwide increased by 1.5% in December, from 1,351 to 1,371 euro per sqm.

“Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 epidemic, sellers’ claims have returned to an upward trajectory in the latter part of last year, which are currently 2.2% higher compared to early 2020. We can say that 2020 was a good year for the real estate market. Demand remained high, especially in the second half of the year. Positive annual differences can be observed in all six regional centers constantly monitored by Imobiliare.ro, at the top of the price list being, this time, Cluj-Napoca, while Bucharest is at the opposite pole “, says Daniel Crainic , marketing director of Imobiliare.ro.
