Croatian industry turnover decreased by 7.8 percent

Turnover in industry in October fell for the eighth month in a row, by 7.8 percent, while on a monthly basis it fell by 1.7 percent, according to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (CBS).

According to the main industrial groups, in October, compared to September, total sales of capital goods decreased by 14.7 percent, energy by 5 percent, and non-durable consumer goods by one percent. At the same time, total sales of intermediate goods increased by 2.3 percent, and durable consumer goods by 1.2 percent.

Turnover in industry in October fell by 8.1 percent compared to September, while in the non-domestic market it increased by 1.2 percent. At the annual level, the total calendar adjusted turnover of industry in October fell by 7.8 percent, while in the domestic market it fell by 13.2 percent, and in the non-domestic market by 1.4 percent.

According to the main industrial groups, in October, compared to the same month last year, energy turnover decreased by 47.3 percent, non-durable consumer goods by 9.4 percent and capital goods by 6.5 percent. On the other hand, durable consumer goods increased by 1.6 percent and intermediate goods by 1.3 percent.

Statistics for the first ten months of this year show that the industry’s turnover was 7.7 percent lower than in the same period last year. At the same time, sales on the domestic market were lower by 6.6 percent, and on the foreign market by 9.1 percent.
