The Surveying and Mapping Authority of Slovenia has published a semi-annual report which points out a smaller number of transactions and at the same time a constant increase in house prices. In Slovenia, real estate trade resumed after a standstill in May and reached pre-pandemic levels in July. Despite the smaller number of transactions, residential property prices kept their value and even rose in the following months. The spring epidemic therefore did not affect the upward trend in residential property prices. At the same time, as expected, the commercial real estate market shrank, which did not recover to the same extent as the housing market after the spring closure. The number of commercial real estate sales remained below pre-pandemic levels after reopening, the report said. Unlike real estate, the prices of such real estate also more or less stagnated in the first half of the year. The period after the first wave of the epidemic was accompanied by optimism, but it is not clear how the market will respond to the current wave of infection.
