Number of properties bought by foreigners in Hungary has dropped by 5%

The number of properties bought by foreigners in Hungary in 2020 has dropped by 5%, with just over 7.000 properties purchased this year. The biggest buyers were Germans, who according to the report by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) purchased 1,212 homes at an average price of EUR 55,000, with only 10% of the transactions in Budapest. Second place were the Chinese, who purchased 1043 properties, with most being in Budapest. KSH data also showed that the Vietnamese community was active in the capital, purchasing 348 homes at an average price of EUR 150,000.
