The Japanese company Nidec plans to build a factory for electric motors in Serbia. The investment will be worth $ 1.9 billion. The factory will be a development center and negotiations with local authorities are underway, which are expected to be completed soon. The new plant will have a capacity of 200,000 to 300,000 engines by 2023.
The company also plans to build factories in Poland and France in 2022, but the Serbian company will be the largest manufacturing center in Europe. Nidec is investing in expanding its production capacity of electric motors in China, the world’s largest new car market. Now the company wants to step into Europe, which also shows great potential. The report, which also includes non-EU continent countries, puts Europe alongside China as the leading market. According to JATO Dynamics, electric cars and hybrids surpassed diesel sales in September.
