Raiffeisen Bank stops cash operations in 1/3 of its Romanian branches

3 November 2020

Raiffeisen Bank has decided that, starting in November, about a third of its branches (129 units) will operate without a cashier, and all cash transactions will be carried out only at ATMs or multi-functional machines.

This year, the context of the pandemic has accelerated many digitization projects and bold changes to the use of “cashless” operations, and this has happened not only in the banking industry. For us, it was the right time to take another step towards encouraging digital transactions. We want to give all colleagues in agencies without a cashier the opportunity to dedicate time to value-added activities for clients, such as counseling in order to understand all the functionalities of our applications and the benefits of our offer of financial solutions. In this way, we want to build valuable and lasting long-term partnerships together. ” said Monica Udrescu, executive director of the Raiffeisen Bank network of units.
