Komercni banka cuts opening hours for Czech branches

2 November 2020

Komercni banka is limiting the opening hours of its branches as of Monday, November 2, which will see doors close for the day at noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Mondays and Wednesdays, the branches will re-open for four more hours from 1 p.m. but only until 3 p.m. on Fridays. All 242 branches are affected by the new openings hours. The Czech government ordered most stores and retail operations to close as the second wave of the pandemic sweeps across Europe, but banks and other essential services have been allowed to remain open. “The goal is to continue to limit the possibilities for spreading the coronavirus and to protect our employees and clients,” said KB’s board member Miroslav Hirsl. “It makes it possible to adjust operations in view of the rising number of employees who aren’t available because of sickness, quarantine or having to care for members of their families. At the same time, the measures allow more employees of KB to serve clients remotely.” Komercni bank closed 60 branches over the summer while others will no longer be handling cash.
