The industrial developer P3 has signed a contract for the acquisition of 44 hectares of land in the Vitkovice district of Ostrava. The old industrial site will be replaced by new manufacturing halls, warehouses, shops and offices according to a design completed by David Kotek of Projektstudio. “We have the unique opportunity to breathe life back into a place that was part of the history of Ostrava which was the industrial heart of the country,” said P3’s director Tomas Micek. The location sits on the edge of the center of Ostrava along Mistecka and Rudna streets, while the Ostravice river forms the eastern edge of the new zone. Given the industrial park’s proximity to the center, P3 entrusted its design to Kotek, who took part in the design of the Nova Karolina center, the Krystal sports arena and the headquarters of Grande Furioso. “We’re trying to retain as many industrial elements as possible but we also want to work with green facades and sustainable materials.” The project calls for construction on roughly 160,000 sqm of land and will offer rental units ranging in size from 1,500 sqm to 35,000 sqm.
