The Hungarian parliament has voted to extend the loan repayment moratorium until June 2021, but this will only affect the most vulnerable. The lawmakers have in this group families with children, pensioners, unemployed, and companies struggling due to the pandemic. Previously the moratorium was for all citizens, as part of the economic shield introduced in spring to prevent economic downfall due to the pandemic. According to secretary of state for financial affairs Gabor Gion this would leave up to EUR 1,2bn with households and businesses.
