No matter if new build or old, all families as of January 2020 will be exempt of paying property tax on houses that they purchase, no matter if they are new builds or old. The decision announced by minister for families Katalin Novak, means that with the VAT reduction that was announced recently, families could save EUR 40.000 on a property worth EUR 140.000. In addition to this the state will cover up to half of the renovation costs amounting up to EUR 8.000 for families raising one or more children.
