Poland introduces new restrictions to combat Covid-19

A number of new restrictions to combat Covid-19 in Poland went into effect over the weekend. The measures, introduced via video link by Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, who is currently in quarantine, impact restaurants, public transport, schools, religious services, weddings and sports activity. Premises offering food are allowed to be open between 6am and 9pm, with only every second table available. After 9 pm, only takeaway and delivery services can be offered. Only 50 percent of seats or 30 percent of all spaces on public transport is allowed to be occupied. A limit of 20 people at weddings and other private celebrations was imposed. Participation at religious ceremonies is limited to one person per 4 sqm. Universities and secondary schools will be moving to a hybrid teaching format, while gyms and swimming pools will be closed.
