Hungarian government still hasn’t implemented new home office regulations

7 October 2020

Despite government plans that would offer employees working from home a tax free subsidy from employees of EUR 45 per month, still no law has been passed in parliament. According to the Hungarian Trade Union Confederation the bill that was to help cover employees home energy bills was supposed to be passed in early September, but still it hasn’t been placed on the parliament’s agenda. According to head of the trade unionists Laszlo Kordas it is still uncertain whether the subsidy will be mandatory or not, and there are still different interpretations from the employer and employee’s side.
