According to the Residential Real Estate Value Map issued by OTP Bank the price per square meter of an apartment in Budapest has grown from an average in today’s money of EUR 460 to EUR 1800 per square meter. The biggest surge in prices in Hungary’s capital happened between 2013 and 2019, when property prices when up from approximately EUR 580 to EUR 1850 per square meter. According to the same report prices in the surrounding Pest County over the past 20 years has quadrupled from EUR 270 per square meter in 2000 to EUR 1100 in 2020.
