More companies switching to home office to impact Polish market

Two-thirds of European-based businesses have reopened their offices following months of uncertainty due to the Covid-19 pandemic, according to a report published by the company STR. In France, more than 80 percent of employees have resumed working at their offices, whereas in Germany, Italy and Spain more than 70 percent of employees are back in the office. In Poland, however, many employees are still working from home. A Walter Herz analysis shows that only one-third of Poland’s workforce has returned to the office. Some companies that have reopened their offices have introduced a hybrid work model, which has their teams switching between remote work and office work. A completely different position, meanwhile, has been adopted by international corporations that are encouraging their employees to work from home, a policy which will likely remain in place for the foreseeable future. American companies operating in Poland, which are responsible for a large part of employment, have decided their employees will permanently work from home, which has significantly impacted the statistics, according to Walter Herz. Home office dominates the IT industry and broadly defined marketing, advertising and communication companies. Companies from the business services sector have also quickly switched to remote mode overnight, according to the Walter Herz report.
