The Hungarian government has allocated EUR 25m funds for the development of the first phase a high-quality tourist attraction by Lake Neusiedl near Sopron. The investment is to improve the waterfront on the Hungarian side of the lake including creation of a water sports centre which is supposed to be eco-friendly. The contract to conduct all development works was won back in August by Mészáros és Mészáros Kft, owned by Hungary’s richest man Lőrinc Mészáros. The investment is administered directly by the prime minister Viktor Orban’s office, instead of the Hungarian Tourist Board.
