The results achieved by PGE Capital Group in the lignite/hard coal power generation segment in the first half of 2020 reinforce the group’s decision to move towards low- and zero-carbon emissions. PGE is set to present its new strategy this fall, which will outline the plans Poland’s largest power utility has for the next 10 years with an outlook to the year 2050. “The entire Polish economy is facing the challenge of zero emissions. However, it is in the area of electricity generation that a real transformation will take place. As the largest company in the sector, PGE will play a key role on the way towards a zero-emission economy in Poland. Our strategic aspiration is 100 percent green energy for PGE customers in 2050,” said Wojciech Dabrowski, president of the management board of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna.
