It has been revealed that Duna Asfalt, a company owned by Laszlo Szijj, has been awarded a contract worth over EUR 250m to construct the new Danube bridge and connecting roads in Budapest. The Hungarian portal 444.hu discovered that a contract had been signed between the National Infrastructure Developer and the 4th richest man in Hungary on September 14th. Szijj is known for his connections with the current government. Since the fall-out between premier Viktor Orban and Lajos Simicska, the owner of construction company Kozgep, Szijj with his Duna Asfalt have become the preferred option to construct state investments.
