Consumer prices in Poland increased by 2.9 percent y-o-y in August, according to data published by Statistics Poland (GUS), with service prices jumping by 6.6 percent and goods increasing by 1.5 percent. As related to the previous month, consumer prices decreased by 0.1 percent, and prices of goods fell by 0.3 percent. Service prices, meanwhile, went up by 0.2 percent. The highest contribution to the total consumer price index in August came from lower prices of food (by 1.2 percent) as well as clothing and footwear (by 1.5 percent), which decreased the index by 0.29 and 0.07 percentage points, respectively, according to Statistics Poland.
