In May, 387,200 tourists stayed in Polsih holiday accommodations for a total of 925,200 overnight stays, according to data published by the Central Statistical Office (GUS). These volumes were down by 88.2 percent and 88.3 percent, respectively, compared to May 2019. A y-o-y decrease in the tourist volume was also recorded in June, with the number dropping by 62.7 percent from a year earlier, according to GUS. The drops in overnight stays were directly linked to the Covid-19 crisis and the government restrictions placed on tourist accommodations to help curb the spread of the virus.
