The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will finance the completion of the Croatian section of the Pan-European Corridor Vc with a €55m loan. It is a 7.5-kilometer-long section between Beli Manastir and the Halašica bridge, and a five-kilometer-long section from Beli Manastir to the border with Hungary. The project includes measures for the control and prevention of environmental pollution in accordance with national and EU standards, including flood protection measures, and the construction process will provide employment and professional development of young people.
Corridor Vc is the main international transport link between Hungary, eastern Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina with the Adriatic Sea, and stretches from Budapest to the port of Ploce. The EBRD implemented its first project in Croatia in 1994, and to date has invested more than €3.9bn in Croatia through 218 projects.
