Austria warns against travel to growing list of countries

Austrian authorities are warning citizens not to travel to Bulgaria, Romania and Moldova due to growing concerns about infected travelers coming to Austria. It’s also warned against travel to Western Balkan countries given the epidemiological situation, including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia and Serbia.

Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said Austria is having to deal with increasing numbers of infected people coming from abroad. People who enter Austria from the countries are being asked to self-isolate for 14 days. He said that controls along the country’s eastern borders will intensify, especially for citizens coming from the Balkans.
