Car sales in Croatia frozen

29 June 2020

At the moment, 20,000 jobs in the automobile sales and services sector are in danger, according to a new study by Deloitte. It took a deep look at the country’s network of authorized showrooms to find out the potential impact of the coronavirus pandemic. It found that Croats are afraid to make significant investments at the moment, such as buying a car, and the state is not intervening in any way to promote such investments. According to the current state of the market, the situation could be even worse, the state treasury will probably be left without a billion HRK. Namely, the current deficit of 40 thousand newly purchased cars, for which the contributions are around HRK 25 000, ultimately produces a deficit of HRK 1bn in the state treasury.
