The total value of real estate transactions in Croatia in 2019 came to HRK 39.8bn, which is equal to 10 percent of the country’s GSP. The figure was 23.7 percent higher than it was in 2018, according to the Institute of Economics Zagreb and the Ministry of Construction, which found that the number of transactions completed grew 6.5 percent to 111,673 y-o-h. The largest number of transactions related to agricultural land (34 percent), with 23.7 percent — or almost 25 thousand – of the deals done for apartments. A total of 17,100 construction land plots were sold along with 14,000 family homes, nearly 12.5 percent of the total number of transactions.
