A total of HRK 554m worth of contracts for the development of the Port of Rijeka have been signed in Rijeka in a ceremony that included the country’s Minister of Sea, Transport, and Infrastructure Oleg Butković. The contracts are for the deepening of the seabed at the Jadranska vrata terminal and for improvements to a 2,977 meter stretch of the 403-state road from the Škurinje junction to the port of Rijeka.
The funding has been financed by grants from the European Union. The contract for the 2,977 meter stretch D 403 road is worth HRK 456.36m. The work will include a 380 meters access road that requires reconstruction, and the 1.2-kilometer-long Podmurvice tunnel. Work on deepening the seabed at the Adriatic Gate terminal will cost an estimated HRK 97.7m.
