Home buyers’ duty to visit tax office to be rescinded

19 June 2020

The Independent Public Revenue Authority (IAPR) in Greece has made a plan according to which transfers of property will be completed in just three days, without the duty by the buyer or seller to visit the tax administration. IAPR officials said that this would put an end to long-standing practices that have produced huge queues at tax offices, as well as tensions and delays for taxpayers. All applications or declarations will be able to be sent by regular mail, courier or e-mail, or submitted to the tax authorities.
