The company China Shandong has been tapped to build the Iverak-Lajkovac expressway, which will connect Valjevo with the Miloš Veliki highway. The contract for the 18.3 km section of road is worth €158m and includes the building of 2,500 meters of bridges. The Serbian government is paying for the construction through the company Putevi Srbije following an agreement between Serbia and the People’s Republic of China. The Iverak-Lajkovac expressway is a cross-link in the Serbian road network and will connect parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the Miloš Veliki highway and Corridor 10, allowing for speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour.
