Warsaw UNIT uses unique ‘dragon skin’ element for facade

17 June 2020

The facade of Warsaw UNIT, a skyscraper that is underway in the Warsaw city center, is being covered with thousands of scale-like plates. Known as “dragon skin,” this unique design element is a type of kinetic facade which changes forms in the wind and will cover almost the entire podium of the building. Ghelamco’s project is the first office building in Poland to use this technology. Warsaw UNIT is going up next to Rondo Daszyńskiego in the capital’s Wola district. The 202-meter building will offer 57,000 sqm of office space on 45 floors.
