Approximately 63,200 dwellings were completed in Poland between January and April, down by 2.8 percent from a year earlier, according to preliminary data published by the Central Statistical Office (GUS). Developers completed 40,000 dwellings, 0.3 percent less than in the corresponding period of 2019. Private investors, meanwhile, completed 21,800 dwellings, 5.2 percent less than in 2019. The majority (98.4 percent) of completed dwellings were in new builds. Less dwellings were completed within cooperative projects than a year earlier (454 compared to 703 dwellings). In other forms of construction like municipal, public building society and company construction, 563 dwellings were completed in total compared to 861 during the previous year, according to GUS.
