International flights returning slowly to Ljubljana

21 May 2020

The timetable for the renewal of passenger flights from the Jože Pučnik Airport in Slovenia is still quite uncertain, even though a week has gone by since international flights were renewed. Some carriers have already informed the airport’s operator Fraport Slovenia of plans their plans, but those plans must still be harmonized for with the official opening of borders and the conditions that will be applied.

Air Serbia is set to resume twice-weekly service to Ljubljana as of May 29, while Lufthansa will wait until mid-June to restore daily flights to Frankfurt. Air France is waiting even longer, until the end of June, before it has its planes fly to Slovenia. The Dutch carrier Transavia canceled all flights from Ljubljana Airport until the end of June, while Finnair is even more pessimistic having canceled all flights for the whole summer. The remaining airlines have not yet responded to Fraport’s call for a resumption of flights.
