Foreign trade totals PLN 254.9bn in Q1

Foreign trade turnover in Poland, based on exports at current prices, amounted to PLN 254.9bn during the first quarter of the year, according to data recently published by the Central Statistical Office (GUS). Imports totaled PLN 251.4bn. The positive balance reached PLN 3.5bn, up from PLN 1bn a year earlier. In comparison to the corresponding period of 2019, exports increased by 0.6 percent, and imports decreased by 0.4 percent. The Covid-19 restrictions introduced in the second half of March did not have a significant impact on foreign trade in goods, the data shows. The borders for the flow of goods have remained open.
